From SNJ Today: GLASSBORO, N.J. – Dorothy L Bullock Elementary School is officially joining Rowan University as its seventh professional development school.
School officials, students, and leaders attended the official welcoming ceremony with the unveiling of a 22-foot banner.
The professional development school, or PDS program at Rowan’s College of Education, is a network where teachers can share advice and support one another.
Through the PDS program, Rowan professors will work along with teachers at the elementary school to improve learning throughout the Glassboro school district.
“I think the sky’s the limit for the partnership,” said Rich Taibi, principal at Dorothy L Bullock Elementary School. “I think Rowan is continuing to grow. We’re becoming more and more effective in what we’re doing, so I think the potential for what we’re going to do with this partnership is really limitless and very, very exciting.”
In addition to the new partnership, Rowan undergraduate teacher candidates will be based at the elementary school to further the PDS network.
